Jason Olney teaches Clarinet and Saxophone in Denver and surrounding suburbs, including Lakewood, Arvada, Thornton, Westminster and more. Jason received his undergraduate degree from Idaho State University, studying with both John Masserini and Shandra Helman, and then came to Colorado to get his Masters in music performance from University of Colorado at Boulder. Jason studied at CU with Dan Silver. He’s also participated in master classes with Robert Spring, Allen Vizutti, and members of the acclaimed Takas Quartet. Jason currently plays principal Clarinet with the Longmont Symphony and the Arapahoe Philharmonic, and also participates in a wide range of opera companies, symphonies and chamber groups, including the Colorado New Music Ensemble, The Boulder Opera Company, Emerald City Opera, Loveland Opera Theater, Broomfield Symphony, Boulder Symphony and others. In the past he’s also performed with such eclectic ensembles as a Thai Gamelan, a touring Mariachi band and an experimental Bass Clarinet Art Rock Band.
