      Full service breast imaging includes Ultrasound, Stereotactic and sonographic guided breast biopsies, infusion breast MRI, FDG breast imaging, and the recent addition of scintimammography. In addition to this state of the art full service breast imaging department DMH has recently addressed women's health care needs by adding a second bone density imaging system for the evaluation of osteoporosis. Now patients can obtain their bone mineral density test either at the South Shores Imaging Center or the DMH Women's Health and Breast Center at 302 W. Hay Street on the DMH campus. Digital Mammography Decatur Memorial Hospital, Forsyth Imaging Center, and South Shores Imaging Center offers state-of-the-art digital mammography. This new mammography system produces breast images through computerization rather than on X-ray film. There are many advantages to the system. The images are clear and easy to read, and can give better visibility, especially near the skin line. The image is ready to read within ten seconds. Women no longer have to wait while the films are developed to be sure the images are usable; that means the test can take as little as half the time of a film mammogram. If a second opinion is needed, the image can be sent electronically to a second doctor; and can then be printed on film for review.
