My daughter came to BaSix after completing her first year in traditional school at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. My wife and I spoke with Mr. Price and were assured that BaSix would meet our needs and exceed our expectations, and we were NOT disappointed. The streamlined coursework, structured system, and AWESOME teachers and staff provided an environment where my daughter could graduate 1 year early! We're so grateful to Mr. Price and the BaSix family, and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for QUALITY and AFFORDABLE non-traditional education resources.

My son is a 2020 Summer graduate. My experience with Basix Knowledge Academy as a parent was great and I would recommend any parent to consider sending their child if they are missing credits or just want to get ahead. Headmaster Price made us feel welcome from the first day of signing up and he took a personal interest in my student. My son came in missing credits and almost a grade behind. Through hard work and teamwork from the school we made it happen. He worked with me through my financial hardship and my son was able to graduate this past July a whole year ahead of schedule than if he were in public school and he did this in a year's time. Thank you so much Headmaster Price! My son is able to continue on to his future endeavors.

This is not a traditional HS but I have been so impressed with the results. My son attended the Instructional Stream of this HS.The class sizes were small and both teachers (Ms. Jackson and Mr. Charles) are highly invested in their students and wonderful at engaging students. The standard of teaching is excellent and expectations are high. The focus of this school is education and obtaining the HS Diploma with a good GPA - there is no downtime during the school day. My son thrived at this school unlike his experience in 9th Grade at the Dekalb County school district. His GPA was excellent and he is now at GA State University working towards a Biology Degree.

THANK GOODNESS for Basix Knowledge and their wonderful staff!! If it wasn't for Basix, giving me that key second chance, I would have never been able to get into college. After trying and failing the Math part on the GHSGT multiple times, I lost all hope and was looking forward to a GED. But luckily, I was referred to Basix Knowledge, did what I needed to do, and got my High School Diploma in no time!!
And I....was off to College.

I took their summer program last year. You have to go once a week. This is what I noticed:

-The kids there seem to all be drop-outs and its kind terrifying to go there and be with them.

-You have to wait 1-2 hours to turn in your homework.

-In the summer months its really hot in GA and lo and behold, they have no air conditioning. Its really terrible and uncomfortable to go there.

-The majority of the time, for almost each assignment, they grade the assignments wrong. This means you either have to go there twice a week to get your homework corrected, or you have to wait an extra hour or two when you go there on your day.

-The principal is this full of himself man who treats each student like they are a drop-out and he looks down on you. At orientation he actually reprimanded everyone for failing classes.

-As for the tutoring...it is open for 1 hour 1 day a week...in the hot building. There is 1 person even if more then one person wants to be tutored. The tutor I had admitted that the homework is often graded wrong. In addition she agreed that some of the problems don't have logical answers. I only got away with good grades because she saw all the typo's on the homework.

-The building is run down...I don't even know if it HAS an air conditioning. It's old and run down looking. It needs major maintenance repairs.

If you can get past the bad parts, the good parts are:

-Open-note final exam

-Easy homework

I don't think this school should be shut down but I do think the administration has the ability to improve and are just too lazy to do it.
