      Atlanta VA Medical Center is located in Decatur, Ga., with an operating nursing home care unit. It also operates the Lawrenceville, the Oakwood, the Smyrna and the East Point community-based outpatient clinics. The Atlanta VA Medical Center is a tertiary care center that provides outpatient health care, extended care, and acute medical, surgical, intermediate and psychiatric care services. The center also serves as a prosthetics treatment center that supplies mechanical devices, such as artificial limbs for patients within the states of Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama. Atlanta VA Medical Center is a part of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs that offers various health programs on cancer, diabetes, HIV, recreation therapy, women s health, blind rehabilitation, hepatitis C and kidney diseases.
