Learn By Doing

General Info
Montessori education works towards the development of the whole child, to help each child to reach his/ her full potential in all areas of life, so children become positive, confident and responsible individuals, lifelong learners and problem solvers. Montessori environment teaches children a positive, I can do it, attitude that will ensure their future success in all aspects of their life. The main purpose of a Montessori school is to provide a carefully planned, stimulating environment which will help the child develop an excellent foundation for creative learning. The specific goal of the Montessori philosophy is to develop positive attitude, self-confidence, concentration, curiosity, initiative, persistence, inner security and sense of order in the child. We believe that each child is unique and special and should be allowed to evolve and grow at his/ her own pace. The Montessori classroom at Montessori Connections is a unique prepared environment, which is carefully designed to allow children to "learn by doing:" Each classroom is filled with imaginative and self-correcting educational materials, which are planned to encourage creative activity, develop the senses and intellectual activity and increase motor coordination. The experience-rich environment encompasses the following areas: * Practical Life * Sensorial * Science * Math * Language * Cultural subjects * Art * Music Outdoor experiences on our beautiful play yard include group games & phys. exercise.

A Montessori infant environment can be considered an adapting continuum between two basic needs of the developing infant. At one pole is the bonded relationship between adult and child, while at the other is support for a growing sense of self and independence. The prepared environment is characterized by order, simplicity and beauty that meet the needs of the child. The toddler classroom offers very young children a unique year of self-development in a tender atmosphere of understanding, respect, and support. They are unique in that they provide a very specific structure that fulfills the social, physical, emotional, and psychological needs of each child. The Montessori classroom is a "living room" for children. Children choose their activities from open shelves with self-correcting materials and work in distinct work areas - on tables or on rugs on the floor. Over a period of time, the children develop into a "normalized community", working with high concentration and few interruptions.
