Fun Irish pub in Dallas. Great place to go on Saint Patrick's Day weekend. Good happy hour specials. Great selection of Irish beers and whiskey. I haven't tried the food but I hear it is good. Like most uptown eateries they offer brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Only drawbacks are smoky atmosphere and it gets quite warm in there during the weekends. They should adjust the air conditioning. The last time I was there in November I had to escape to the covered porch area to get some relief from the warm temperature inside. Some people say that this pub has the Uptown pretentious attitude but I disagree. Believe me, I have been to other bars which others would write off as pretentious. If you want a more laid back feel and slightly lower prices check out Old Monk (Knox-Henderson area) or Dubliner (Lower Greenville). These Irish pubs are owned by the same team of people.

The Old Monk One-Upped Itself

Same owners as the Old Monk - and very simliarly executed. Expect a giant beer, wine and liquor selection just as you would at the Monk. Differences worth noting are an expanded menu with more upscale choices, uptown prices, and an uptown crowd.

Good 'ol Irish Pub. The place to be on St. Patrick's Day.

Kind of snooty atmosphere, good beer. Can get pretty smoky.
