I have been to this salon a few times, always have a great experience. The owner is present and available for consult and keeps an eye on things. I personally have had a cut by her (excellent in hair texture knowledge and performance of the cut/style she gives) and Jessica Raye Joiner also is excellent in cut and color. Very upscale salon yet casual and laid back. Go get your Pompeo on!

In need of a change I looked at some reviews for salons in the area. I came across Salon Pompeo and was intrigued by a very well thought of stylist, so I called to make an apponintment with him only to find out he had lef the salon over a year ago. So I made the appointment with another stylist recommended by the receptionist.I have very long, thick, heavy hair and wanted to keep the length but update my look. Keeping my expectations in check, because there are few things more annoying than trusting someone with your appearance and being disappointed, I sat down in Leah's chair and was happy to find that she was not only pleasant to chat with but very intent on understanding exactly what I was hoping to achieve. SHE NAILED IT and got herself a new client! Thank you, Leah!

Had a wonderful experience at Salon Pompeo as a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding. Everyone was so accomodating and made the wedding morning so much fun. Got my make-up done by Rick and absolutely loved it!!!! Not only did it look really great, but it lasted all day through a very warm Dallas day :) Make-up was so clean, just looked like the glam version of myself! He was so sweet and incredibly talented. Couldn't recommend him more!

I am not sure what the girl below is talking about but I moved to Dallas about 6 years ago and stumbled into Salon Pompeo looking for a new stylist and I was lucky enough to get Kristin Schutz. I, along with 5 of my friends have all gone to her for years..I have hair extensions and I have other stylists stop me on the street to ask who did them-she is amazing at color and her blow outs are best I have ever had. I am bewildered by the other comment but it sounds like a personal matter because the person who wrote the review did not mention a thing about Kristin's ability as a stylist. Salon Pompeo has always employed great stylist and that is what I look for in a salon. We all love Kristin and we would all have to change salons if she left. I have never had a problem with her other then she is hard to get an appointment with :)

My issue with the salon came in September of this year, when I discovered that one of their stylists who had been doing my hair for about 9 months, Kristin Schutz, had been using the information printed on the checks I had been giving her for services in order to actually fraudulently use my checking account. She had taken the checking account number and routing number from my checks and had used those numbers to draft an electronic check from my bank account to pay her utility bills. This sounds insane, I know, but believe it or not it is absolutely the truth. Unfortunately for her, she was not smart enough to not use her own name when committing fraud, so her name showed up on my bank's end. Because she is clearly not an authorized user on my checking account, the bank had no problem deeming it fraud, and I had my money back within a few hours.
I have pressed criminal charges, and the Dallas Police Department's fraud/forgery division is now in the process of investigating the case. I confronted both Ms. Schutz and the salon management about the problem. As expected, Ms. Schutz denied her involvement...despite the fact that there is a mountain of evidence proving that money was moved from my checking account to pay her account at Green Mountain Energy. Salon management was courteous, professional and apologetic when I told them what had happened--yet they still did not fire her! Ms. Schutz STILL WORKS THERE!! Management told me that, though they believe that she did do this (!!!), she would not be fired because they suspected she had some mental issues that might cause her to lie and steal, and that they ""felt badly"" for Ms. Schutz. When I later called asking for Ms. Schutz's cosmetology license number so that I could file a complaint with the state board, the manager politely refused to give it to me...she told me that I could ""get it from somewhere else."" I am completely appalled that an upscale salon would knowingly employ an individual who steals from customers.
Prior to this, I had not a single complaint about the salon. All of my prior dealings with management have indicated that they are completely honest, reasonable and professional, and that they care about their customers. The fraud Ms. Schutz committed was not the salon's fault; however, any future incidents will be their fault, since they have continued to employ her. Though they will not fire her, I do not believe that management is being malicious here. They have been very polite (though in my opinion unreasonable) in dealing with this issue...I'm sure they aren't intending to do me any harm, and only want to protect their business. That being said, I do strongly disagree with the way the incident was handled, and I think they are doing a great disservice to their customers in continuing to employ this woman.
And, in fairness to the salon, I do need to say that other than this one rogue fraudster employee, everyone else I have come into contact with at the salon, from Jeremy at the front desk, to all of the stylists, to the aesthetician, is nothing but kind, talented, courteous, professional, and honest. If you get your hair done at this salon, I promise you'll love it, no matter who you go to. They all do a great job--in fact, I really wish I could still go there (and if management had fired Ms. Schutz, I would still be going there). Prior to this, I would have given the salon a 5 star review. The other wonderful people who work there should not be penalized simply because they have the misfortune of working with a fraudulent colleague. I'm not saying not to go to Pompeo; what I am saying is that if you do go there, don't leave your purse unattended...and ALWAYS pay in cash.

Taury is amazing! I have been living in Dallas for two years and I was frustrated because I couldn't find anyone in the area. Finally a friend introduced me to Taury and he does a fantastic job every time. I have long, thick, and kind of curly hair and he knows how to cut it so that it looks good curly and straight. I also love that he is always honest about what will look good. I get complements on my hair regularly, I am so glad I was introduced to Taury!!

Drea also known as my little beauty angel sent straight from God himself, and no I'm not exaggerating. I was on a tight budget for my wedding back in March/April of this year, 2010. I wanted my hair done, my makeup done and I had gone to a girl in my town at a salon for a lot of money for my engagement pics and she did good on my hair, but my makeup could have been better especially for the price. My fiance, at that time, worked beside the Ogle school. I had not intended on getting my hair/make-up done for my bridal shoot, but as that day came my mind changed, yet I still had a budget to stay within. So I go to the Ogle school, I get my hair done by someone, not Drea, and I was suppose to get my makeup done by someone else but she couldn't be found or was already gone. Sooo Drea had to squeeze my make up in while she was doing someone else's hair. Needless to say she is phenomenal with make-up brushes and colors in general. So I scheduled her that very day to do my make-up for my wedding day, which was a month from that day. I had her do both my hair and make-up and couldn't have felt more beautiful, or so I thought, on my very important day. So time goes on and Ms. Drea graduates and calls me to be a model at her first salon and the cut was great, but being Drea she made a color suggestion. I have always gotten compliments on my beautiful red hair and never thought in a million years about coloring my beautiful red hair. LOL. So yesterday on her day off she comes to Salon Pompeo, which is where she is now and it's an extremely exquisite salon, to cut and you guessed it color my beautiful red hair. I was a little shocked at first, but I'm 150% loving the new me. Yes I said the new ME, not just my hair. I feel like a different person and my fairly new husband can't keep his hands off me. She has a God given talent and she is fun to talk with, she is heaven sent. Not too mention the awesome salon God has put her in, it's only right to put an angel from heaven in a heavenly atmosphere.
I honestly mean that because I didn't plan to see her that first day, I didn't even plan to get my hair and makeup done for my bridal pics. It wasn't coincidental, God knows what he is doing!!

Fantastic salon! Diana can mix colors perfectly - can make your highlights look just like any photo you show her. She also knows the perfect shades, no matter if you want to go blonde or brunette with golden highlights- they always look great w/ your skin. Other colorists at other places have not been able to replicate the colors she uses (some went too dark w/ my light skin and some went too yellow and one person made it platinum - not good!) and told me 'it's not possible' to get your hair that color. ! Well she knows how - her technique is so good- perfect highlights!

Taury Patterson is the best. I have seriously been looking for someone who could cut my long hair, which has been the bane of my existence for the last 30 years...I absolutely loathe blow drying my hair every morning, and can never get it to look right, or anything close to what it looks like at the salon. I went to Taury based on a recommendation from the staff, and it was the best decision I have ever made. I don't even live in Dallas anymore, but still travel to get my hair cut by Taury. Whatever technique he uses, it is magic! My hair looks great every day and it is so easy to blow dry and style - it just ""falls"" into place. I am so grateful. Taury has truly enhanced the quality of my life! He is super talented and I would highly recommend him to anyone without reservation.

I am new to Dallas and decided to try out Salon Pompeo because it is right next to where I live. The cut was average, and it was a pretty non-eventful experience until I got my bill. When they offered me something to drink, right after I walked in, I did not expect to pay for said offered beverage. I have never been to a salon (even nail salon) that went ahead and tallied on a glass of cheap red wine to the bill. Truly taking advantage of the uptown crowd and just an annoyance to say the least. I recommend going somewhere else where things are happening and you feel appreciated as a customer as oppose to a money-maker.

I am new to the area and needed a new stylist so I went off a reccomendation from an aquaintance and made an appointment with Kelly Garza at Salon Pompeo. Now it must be said that I am EXREMELY picky about hair stylists. I have had my fair share of botched haircuts as my hair is very thick and difficult to cut. I was very impressed with the salon. I was worried that the service wouldn't live up to its high end image but I was thouroughly impressed with the results. Kelly is extremely efficient and a skilled stylist. I was kind of nervous at first because I could tell she was running behind and in a hurry but both the cut and blow dry turned out great. She's a little on the pricy side but I'm willing to pay more to get the job done right. I highly reccomend Kelly if you are looking to try a new stylist in Dallas.

moved to Dallas last summer new to the city. After a few months of living here it was time for me to get my hair cut and colored. I am VERY PICKY about who does my hair, I've had just about every bad hair situation happen to me - orange hair, chuck cut out the back, a mullet, and very short layers. I got on Yelp and CitySearch to see what I could find. I even asked my friends where they go but none of them are as ""OCD"" (haha) about their hair. I also came across a magazine, Elle I believe, that had the top salons in the country. Salon Pompeo was listed as one from Texas so I searched them on the internet. I had read rave reviews on both Steven Marlin and Taury Patterson... so I took a chance and I'm so happy that I did!!!
Steven and Taury are the best hair colorist/stylist that I've ever been to! Each time I walk out of the salon I feel like a million bucks and love my hair! Steven is amazing with blondes, it's almost as if I could pass as a natural blonde - I'm totally not. I love my color! Taury is a rockstar - I've never loved a hair cut as much as I currently do! He is so precise and really takes him time to make sure everything is absolutely perfect.
Steven only does color, Taury only cuts...
Think about it this way - it's their ""art"", their passion! They are both unbelievably talented and I will NEVER go to anyone else to get my hair colored or cut. END OF STORY!

I was referred to Taury at Salon Pompeo, by a few girls in my office, who had told me how great he was. I had already been to a few different salons, trying to find some one who worked well with my long hair. I had never had my hair cut dry before, and it was quite an experience. He took his time, and didn't rush through the cut. I must say, I have never seen my hair look, feel and move like this! I love it!!

On a recent unexpected trip to Dallas, I was in dire need of a haircut...being from NYC I thought I'd never find anyone half as good as my stylist at home...well guess what? I found one even better...in fact, he's incredible...so if you live in near Salon Pompeo Uptown...I strongly recommend Taury...he's outstanding and very nice.

I worked in the beauty/hair industry for 3 years and I have to say that I have never found someone who does hair like Keri! She listens to what you want, tells you what really goes with your face, and then adds her own creativity to it!
I went to Keri about 7 weeks ago for the first time, and I have always gone to the same woman for nearly 4 years.. so I was nervous. Keri had her work cut out for her. Needless to say, I had what they call a ""bad box job"" - or in other words, orange roots and platinum ends! It was a color correction... but Keri jumped right in and provided the best solution. She rocks!
I wish you could see the difference in the before and after pics, this website will not allow you to post links or put pictures up... so - let's just say she took me from ""box head"" orangey blonde... to platinum blonde super chic!
I highly recommend Keri for anything -- especially color corrections. Also, she is the bomb at picking out a perfect hair cut to frame your face... I will NEVER go to anyone else. Go see Keri @ Salon Pompeo!

I have shoulder length wavy hair that will spiral with the right cut, but I never knew that until Kelly Garza started cutting my hair. Other stylists I have gone to have ALL given me cuts that force me to blowdry it straight (their ideas of what's good for me). I love my curly hair & wanted a style that would work with it & my busy schedule - I have that now. She's also fabulous with color - I have this great color that looks & feels natural, thanks to her expertise. She makes me feel good about the way I look.

A friend of mine went to Taury at Salon Pompeo, and her hair had never looked better, so I decided to make myself an appointment. He was very professional, and attentive to my hair, and my look. Now people ask me where to go, and I send them to Taury!
