Dan F. Long Middle School is an educational institution that offers a range of academic and extracurricular programs for more than 860 students. It has been rated as the Academically Acceptable school by the Texas Education Agency. The school provides instruction in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Its students participate in various regional- and national-level orchestra, choir, band and sports competitions organized by the University Interscholastic league. Dan F. Long Middle School follows the educational assessment guidelines set by the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). The school is a part of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District, which serves students in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Farmers Branch and Irving in Texas, as well as governs elementary, middle and high schools.
