- GlaucomaThe most common complication is graft dislocation, with a reported dislocation rate of between 2% and 25% depending upon the study. This requires a re-bubbling of the graft, a secondary follow-up procedure. DSAEK renders the cornea slightly thicker than its original size, which might make future tracking of glaucoma more difficult. DMAEK does not add to the corneal thickness but some glaucoma patients still may not be candidates for DMAEK.

- CataractsUntil recently, most cataract patients had their vision improved with a single focus intraocular lens (IOL) which provides clear distance vision, but requires most patients to use bifocals or reading glasses to see near objects.
- Cataract SurgeryFor patients with astigmatism in addition to their cataract, a toric (astigmatism-correcting) lens implanted during cataract surgery provides the best chance for clear distance vision. The AcrySof IQ Toric® and Tecnis Toric® lenses are some of our most popular lens options for cataract surgery. These lenses are designed to correct between 1 Diopter and 4 Diopters of astigmatism, in most cases eliminating or at least significantly reducing the hassles associated with astigmatism correction after surgery. Because this is a "premium" lens option, there are costs associated with this lens that are not covered by insurance plans.
- Eye ExamOur office is conveniently located in a building that houses many ocular care practices. While our ophthalmologists focus on treating corneal conditions, if we suspect or diagnose an eye concern outside of our area of expertise during your eye exam, such as a retinal condition, our ophthalmologists can refer you to our neighbors for treatment. Or, if your optometrist suspects you have an eye disease requiring corneal care, we can provide the solution you need.
