Hmmmm....Let me start with the positives. First it was clean and bright. My wife said the fried green tomatoes were excellent and the fried corn was delicious. I thought the baby Limas were great and the cornbread soft and slightly sweet just like I like it. And the buttermilk pie was terrific. The sweet tea was almost like syrup it was so sweet but thats a matter of taste. If I go back Ill get unsweetened and sweeten it myself. While my southern fried chicken was hot and juicy the pieces were awfully small. The rice tasted like it was some kind of instant rice and the white gravy was flavorless and had barely any of it on the rice. Now for controllable things that took away from the experience. We were first on the restaurant and during the entire time it was not very busy at all. So the fact that both orders were misplated with the wrong sides was inexcusable. Someone didnt check the order. Next my wife ordered white baked chicken but she got a leg and thigh. Again someone didnt check it before it left the kitchen. Then when the check came, the white chicken surcharge was on the check. Again, someone didnt not only check the plates, but didnt check the the check. While my wife picked at the leg and thigh it wasnt her favorite and she left disappointed. I did get the check corrected. The server should have had the owner manager at least come over and apologize but didnt. So we paid the bill and did leave a tip, but to as whether will we go back, I dont know. I could get almost the same meal, sans the yummy pie, at KFC in a $5 fill up for less than half the price. May try again, but this trip was not enough to make me want to go back. My grade is a C.
