We have been customers of Grannys Tamales for over 20 years. And through the years, especially around the holidays their customer service is lacking, but this time of year thats to be expected. We have let it go, and endured the single file lines in the smallest space imaginable for tamales. We have enjoyed their delivery service too over this past year, and have ordered quite a bit. We tip well and are appreciative of this service. We had a Christmas dinner last night, I was not going to be able to make my entre so we ordered 6 dozen of regular tamales. They delivered on time. We kept them in a cooler until our guest arrived, but they were just horrible. They make their masa with vegetable oil and that is what they tasted like old oil, old meat, dry dry masa. Every dozen we opened was the same except for the 1 dozen of cream cheese and jalapeno. We called back the next day to tell the manager about our experience and ask what in the world happened. We said we were not looking for any kind of reimbursement we ate the bad tamales anyway, but we nonetheless wanted to know what went wrong. I guess today was the last straw in terms of how arrogant these people can be. He was even boastful about his name, even offered to spell it DANIEL BENAVIDES/MANAGER. We had him on a speaker call and he wasnt too thrilled with this so he hung up on us. As I mentioned maybe some businesses can afford to throw away paying customers because they are raking in the dough for Christmas, but still we expect at least to be heard and not a broken conversation with a man practically screaming on the phone with the same words on repeat, We make them fresh every day. We make them fresh every day. We make them fresh every day. Imagine being told this in such a way. Okay, maybe they are making them fresh every day but how can we know we are getting the ones made TODAY. How do we know were not getting some old stock pile in a freezer? We dont know this. I caution you about all of these things because when they are bad, they are worse than awful --- the taste of old, cheap vegetable oil, the taste of old pork meat, the varying differences in quality, and the owners and management having no regard whatsoever about a customers loyalty to them for many, many years. There is no reason to treat your customers this way with no professionalism, no resolve, and no shame in his lack of education or understanding to the most standard of dilemmas ---you are selling food Daniel, the most basic conversation you can have is about TASTE. Daniel Benavides take a class or two in customer management, you surely need it.
