Incompetent and Dishonest - On Fathers day my outside unit stopped cooling I called Conroe Air Conditioning, service man came out and told me my compressor was bad and needed a new unit for $4,451. That Monday I got a second opinion, come to find out I didn't need a new unit, Conroe Air was just trying to scam me, I have worked in the A/C Business before and I knew something was wrong. Not only did Conroe Air make fraudulent claims about my unit, the service guy left a wire lost on the start capacitor, when he powered up the unit it fried the capacitor. I called Conroe Air for a refund, $140 for the service call and $160 for the capacitor ( There Price ) they agreed to the refund of $300. Got my check in the mail today for $180, Scammed again! Never call or use Conroe Air they are just a bunch of lying thieves. I hate that the lowest rating is 1 star they don't even deserve that. The company I used that fixed my A/C was Airtite Services, honest guy that by the way was only going to charge me $1800 for the new unit, he could have just installed it making me feel good that I saved thousand from Conroe Air ridiculous price but this is an honest company unlike the con-artists at Conroe Air. In September 2011 I called out Conroe Air to replace a faulty evap coil. In July 2012 this newly installed coil had to be replaced again. On this occasion the technicians damaged the wall of our home when replacing the coil but did not report it. I reported it to the operations manager at Conroe Air but after four weeks he had done nothing about it. Only after contacting their lame duck CEO was a dry wall repair man sent out. I also enquired from the operations manager about air eascaping from the AC unit after they worked on it and he promptly asked the dry wall repair man to check it out. What a joke......

As the coil was under warranty part of the labor cost is carried by the manufacturer. I enquired about this and was told by Conroe Air that my coil did not qualify for this re-embursement. Months later I again queried this and then they all of a sudden sent me a $300 check. Makes you wonder............

In April 2013 this evap coil failed once again. I contacted Rheem(the coil manufacturer) and they said it was a matter between us and Conroe Air. I contacted the CEO at Conroe Air and he was all gung ho to come out and inspect the system. However when trying to set up a date at a later stage he back tracked like a thief in the night and referred us to Rheem who wanted nothing to do with our problem. I contacted two seperate AC repair companies to come and inspect the system and both had the same verdict. Poor welds and a incorrectly installed coil. At this point I couldn't be bothered any longer in dealing with the likes of Conroe Air and Rheem and had a new aluminum coil installed by an independant contractor. Incompetent and dishonest is the only way to describe Conroe Air and Rheem. Anyone reading this do yourself a favor and stay away from the likes of Conroe Air and Rheem ..............

Dishonest!

When my air conditioning went out I called Conroe Air Conditioning Co. The technician that came out to my home informed me that my system was not repairable and that it would have to replaced at a cost of thousands of dollars. I am 87 years of age and on a fixed income so I could not afford to have this work done. I went 3 day without A/C and that was terrible. My friend told me to call another A/C company, so I did. When that technician came out he repaired my system for less than $100.00 that was 2 months ago and it still cools fine today.
