General Info

After earning a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, I did postdoctoral training in forensic psychology. I heard so many reports from school children and from prisoners of abuse and childhood trauma. I wanted a way to work with early childhood trauma and other traumas and this led me to obtain advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which research supports. Clients came with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Trichotillomania, and this led me to obtain specific training through the OCFoundation and the Trich Learning Center. These Behavior Training Institutes were rigorous and greatly increased my level of success with OCD and Trich (hair pulling) and with Hoarding. I was still puzzled by how to help people with long term patterns of "being" in the world which interfered with their relationships and with their success. This led me to 3 years of extra training in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), which has helped me to be more effective in helping patients with personality styles and patterns which get in their way. Along the way, I obtained extra intensive training in work with Sexual Addiction, and I have been known for expertise in this area. I also received many years of training in Hypnosis and have been certified in Hypnosis through the highly esteemed organization, the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
