- MRIColorado Springs Ear Associates offers comprehensive medical evaluation of your balance disorder. Your visit will begin with a hearing test since changes in hearing are frequently associated with balance problems. This will be followed by a thorough review of your medical history and a physical and neuro-otological examination during your office visit. To determine if your balance disorder is caused by problems in your inner ear, our doctors may recommend additional diagnostic testing with The Balance Center’s state-of-the-art equipment, such as videonystagmography (VNG), vestibular evoked myogenic potentials, auditory brainstem response and rotary chair tests. Other procedures such as imaging tests (MRI or CT), labs, and additional consultations may be recommended as well.
- Physical TherapyFollowing your medical evaluation, your doctor may recommend Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT). VRT is a specialized form of physical therapy designed to alleviate symptoms of dizziness, vertigo and unsteadiness. Our Certified Vestibular Therapist will design an exercise-based therapy program for you that will reduce your symptoms of imbalance, dizziness and gaze instability, and reduce your risk of falling.
