- Carpal Tunnel SyndromeFrom the top of Pikes Peak, I want to tell other patients suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Dr. Martyak, his P.A Bobby, and Front Office Mgr. Blaire are the utmost professionals. You will only encounter professional and kind staff in this office. First, I was treated for a fractured scaphoid bone, in my right hand. After I healed, then Dr. Martyak treated me for Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Syndrome; this included, the Ulnar Nerve. I can 100% say, I could not have had a better experience!! - Wound CareMiyoko Green is a board certified physician assistant and has worked with Dr. Shank at Colorado Center of Orthopedic Excellence since 2013. She assists Dr. Shank during surgical procedures and diagnoses and treats patients in the clinical setting. Miyoko and Dr. Shank work closely together and employ a team approach to their patient care. In addition to being trained directly by Dr. Shank, she frequently attends orthopedic and foot and ankle educational events to further her knowledge and provide the best and up to date care for her and Dr. Shank’s patients. - Hand SurgeryDr. Karl Larsen is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). He is one of an elite group of surgeons who have achieved the esteemed Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Larsen specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hand and upper extremity injuries. He commonly treats patients for athletic injury and overuse conditions of the wrist, disorders of the elbow, shoulder fractures, and work-related injuries as well as upper extremity trauma reconstruction and complex hand surgery. He completed his fellowship at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Crowther gained extensive surgical experience consisting of level 1 spine trauma, degenerative conditions, complex deformity correction, and spinal tumors. He gained further exposure and focus on sports related spine injuries with the spine surgeons at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center. His surgical training allows him to utilize the latest minimally invasive techniques, navigated and robotic surgery, and traditional open procedures.
- ArthroscopyDr. Geoffrey Doner is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy of the hip. He is a proud graduate with distinction from the University of Colorado at Boulder with degrees in Biology and Communication. He went on to graduate from the University of Colorado Medical School, receiving the distinguished William Winters award as the top medical student in the orthopedic department. He then completed his orthopedic residency at the University of New York at Stony Brook. Upon finishing his residency, he then went on to pursue additional sports medicine training. He attended a one-year fellowship at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center, during which time Dr. Doner had the opportunity to care for the Cincinnati Bengals Football Team. To further refine his craft, Dr. Doner continued his studies by completing several more months of additional hip arthroscopy training.

He performs procedures for arthritis, sports and athletic injuries, cartilage injuries, fractures, trauma and deformity. His specialized services also include total ankle arthroplasty (ankle replacement) and revision total ankle arthroplasty. Dr. Shank performs the most total ankle arthroplasties in southern Colorado and utilizes the most advanced CT guided technology available. He particularly enjoys complex, challenging, foot and ankle traumatic injuries, reconstructions and revision surgeries.  In addition, he regularly performs minimally invasive and other current, evidence-based techniques.

- Manual TherapyKatie received two Bachelor’s of Science degrees from the University of Northern Colorado in Athletic Training, and Sport and Exercise Science, as well as a Minor in Nutrition. She is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association and holds a Silver Sneakers certification through Tivity Health. Katie is well-versed in a broad range of injury mitigation, manual therapy, and rehabilitation techniques for restoring pre-injury function. She is responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing exercise programs for healthy and injured individuals, and those with controlled diseases. Katie previously worked for 3 years as the Head Athletic Trainer for Pride FC Semi-Professional Women’s Soccer Team (who took 2nd in the 2016 National Tournament), U18 National Champion Girls Club team, and U11-U14 Boys Developmental Academy League. Katie has worked with pre-adolescent, high school, collegiate and Olympic/Professional athletes. Katie lives an active lifestyle and is passionate about fitness, health, and helping improve the well-being and functional activity levels of her patients.
