Keep in mind as you read these reviews folks that this school opened its doors in 2017. It isnt going to run as smoothly as ANY school that many of these families have as an alternative option for schooling their children. A rhythm, routine, and tenor have to be established and that takes time. With that in mind and knowing that going in to the school year, we did our due diligence to heed the requests and requirements of the administration as the year gostarted and as time moved forward I reminded myself and others around me to execute patience and sure enough the end of the year had many of the kinks, bumps, and skids worked out, and with even more hope moving into the future. Those who struggle with the idea of CAP being required at any grade level may want to reconsider the fact they are sending their child to a MILITARY structure based school. I absolutely loved how the overall, not each individual being spoken for here, staff goal was for growth. Our son had been labeled by a previous public school as a kid that will barely make it by in school and have a mediocre set of opportunities afterwards for him. Well I can tell you, on the slightly accelerated curriculum that the Academy had in place, the only struggle he faced was learning the higher accountability with turning work in unprompted. Outside of that our son was an A/B student and found a great deal of growth in the maturity department as a result of his excellent instructor. Our daughter, who has never faced academic struggle, finally found challenging work and an instructor who, despite an emotional departure, was exceptionally supportive and dedicated to her students. Any time I had a concern, whether academic or social she was there to listen and quick to act. The name clearly states military academy, which means one should expect grooming, attire, character and parental behavior standards that will grow over time as the Academy establishes its roots here in the community

We started at the school under the impression of “resources” being available to my son. We trusted when the vice principal and teachers would say we are going to make sure it’s taken care of . We are looking into the situation ...
So many people thought this academy was a reform school so the school was not prepared for half of the students being troubled children.
My son who has always been a great student and on top of his work started suffering immensely when he got to this school. Not only did they not provide the adequate resources for IEP the excuses that have been given as to why no one has followed up with me are ridiculous . It’s unfortunate I couldn’t change schools right away and now my child’s education is suffering .

False promises and terrible communication has still til this day been an issue. I would not recommend this school to anyone!
Half the parents won’t speak up because their children are still there but it’s a known fact how unprepared this school was when it opened .

Thankfully he has an amazing teacher Mr . keltner and a very patient teachers aide mrs. Shipe who have picked up where the administration has lacked and taken the time to try to and help him as much as they can.

I wish again that with the number of phone calls and emails I have made that someone would have followed up.

Again be weary of false promise that this “Stem Charter School” has to offer and all the “resources” that they put in their great tv commercial that we have yet to see .
