The Shawnee Mental Health Center is a private, nonprofit comprehensive community mental health center. It offers services to the residents of Adams, Lawrence and Scioto counties in Ohio. In operation since 1973, the center provides a range of comprehensive psychiatric services for children and adults. The Shawnee Mental Health Center offers a range of counseling services that are designed to teach people the skills necessary to manage situational and life problems. Located in Coal Grove, Ohio, it maintains a toll-free crisis line telephone number where crisis workers respond to emergencies in various community locations. The center also operates a 10-bed crisis stabilization unit that provides several residential support and mental health services.
