- Carpet CleaningNotify your Floors To Go dealer in writing. Be sure to describe the specific problem, and to include a copy of your invoice. You must also provide the proof of proper maintenance with invoices from a professional carpet cleaning company at intervals described in the warranties. Your Floors To Go dealer will take appropriate action.
- Tile and Grout CleaningCleaning techniques vary depending on the installation and finish of the floor. Hardwood floors with a urethane finish should never be waxed. They require cleaners that won’t leave a film or residue. Manufacturers of “Pre-finished” hardwood floors recommend their own specific products designed for their floor’s routine maintenance. Never use products intended for other flooring types like vinyl or tile cleaning products.
- VacuumingAfter certain carpet styles have been subjected to traffic, you may notice areas that appear lighter or darker than other areas. Don't be alarmed! Shading is the result of the change in direction of the pile due to pressure from the footsteps and vacuuming. Brushing the pile all in one direction may temporarily correct shading; however, shading is part of the carpet styling and should be expected to varying degrees. Do not mistake shading for color fading.
- SweepingOnce your new floor is installed, you’ll want to keep it looking like new. You can prevent scratches caused by dust, dirt and other particles with the use of mats or rugs, especially in high traffic areas like entrances. Buy a good quality broom and sweep your new floor at least once a week. Reduce dust - a major source of scratching - by using a dry microfiber mop in between sweeping. A vacuum cleaner without a beater bar can be helpful in between planks and other hard to reach areas.
