Provided by YP.comI don’t usually write reviews, but after taking the services of Dr Ronald Whitford, I feel he deserves a review. What to say, he is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable…I will never take my pets anywhere else…5/5.

Provided by YP.comDr. Ronald Whitford performed surgery on my dog after other vets in town refused to do so. The latter wanted us to go to Nashville to a specialist that charged more than what we could afford. I am very thankful to Dr. Whitford…my dog is doing well now.

Provided by YP.comSt B is the worst place you can go to. Dr. Whitford is all about money not quality. In the last 2 yrs. he has lost at least maybe 10 vets because he treats people like dirt. He is so lazy he does not even update who his vets are. Dr. Botzman,, Dr. Wicks, Dr. Dan, and Dr. Whitley are no longer there. Dr. Whitley told me his happiest day was when he told Dr. Whitford he was leaving. I had a cat that needed his teeth removed Dr. Whitford quoted me 1200.00 whereas another vet quoted a dental which was 150.00. Dr. Whitford is the most expensive place in town. Most other vets in town have nothing nice to say either. The only thing that has kept him in business was his vets that work for him like Dr. Whitley. But his other vets can do nothing about the prices.

Provided by YP.comUnfortunately I had a very negative experience with this clinic and have been to a few others in town for comparison. I feel that vets should care for animals in the same seriousness doctors care for their patients. A few months before this experience I adopted a great dog from a local shelter and my mother fell in love with him and decided she wanted to rescue a dog as well. She picked out a great little dog that was happy go lucky but while walking him saw some blood in his stool. After adopting him she had him sent straight to this clinic to be checked out. While at the store picking out his things we were called and told he had a high temperature of 103 (later finding out that a dogs natural temperature is around 101.5/102, much higher than humans), so this was not very high at all and that he did have some blood in his stool. He made it seem as if a parvo test was a waste of money because it could sometimes come up negative. We were not given options and told we had to make a decision if we wanted to send him back because it seemed he could not stay there. The vet went on to somewhat talk about shelter dogs in a pretty negative manner, stating "you never know what you're going to get". Since we had another dog at the house he said it wouldn't be safe since they didn't know what it was to have him around our other dog. To make a long story short he pretty much talked her into sending him back which she thought bought her some time to figure out what to do and maybe go to a clinic that could help him or find someone that could take him in "since he was a very happy dog, not sickly". 5 minutes later we arrived at the clinic to find the vet had euthanized him. We were never told this or given our options. This whole experience is very unsettling to me and I feel as a good doctor it is your job to be unbiased and try everything in your power to save an animal in need. This has been one of the most unfortunate things to go through, and I can only hope that this story saves the life of another dog in need.

Provided by YP.comI took my puppy to see Dr. Whitford suspecting that he had a fractured leg from a fall he had sustained. My normal vet was out of town and I was referred to see Dr. Whitford.
When Dr. Whitford came into the exam room he did a brief "feel" of his leg and stated it was broken and that the surgery would be in the thousands. I told him that I didnt have the cash on me and I guess he assumed that I wasnt going to be able to pay at all, when in fact I just didnt have cash in pocket. He didnt even take or offer to take an x-ray of his leg to determine the severity. He then kept insisting that my puppy looked like he may have the red mange even though I told him that my normal vet had him on medication for grass allergies. He then scraped his hind leg with a scalpal twice, leaving a scar and still didnt find any signs of red mange. Although he didnt find anything under his microscope he still insisted that he was suspicious that he had red mange. He then repeatedly informed me that the holidays were coming soon and that the leg surgery and possible red mange was going to be pricey so I should just have him put down and start over with a good dog. I guess he assumed that I was so hard up that I wouldnt be able to take care of my animal and buy christmas presents. Needless to say, I left his office quite disturbed. When my normal vet came back into town he took an x-ray of my pups leg and determined it was in fact fractured, but splintable. So for a few hundred dollars and two weeks in a splint my pup is good as new. By the way, all of his allergies have since cleared up and he is quite healthy and happy.
