- The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, also known as ODFW, operates hatcheries and wildlife regions. Its areas of responsibilities include the management and conservation of fish and wildlife species. The department provides economic, commercial, recreational and aesthetic services for the citizens and visitors of Oregon. It provides information on fishing and hunting licenses, forecasts and statistics. The department maintains a fish division that administers Fish Screening Program, Youth Angling Enhancement Program, Western Oregon Stream Restoration Program and Natural Resources Information Management Program. The division s Marine Resources Program includes the monitoring, sampling, research and management of commercial and recreational marine fisheries. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife additionally administers diversity, game and habitat programs through its wildlife division.
