General Info

Dr. James Peters opened the Chillicothe Animal Clinic in 1976. He started the clinic with himself and 1 other employee to care for the needs of the pets of Chillicothe. Since that time, Chillicothe Animal Clinic, Inc. has grown to include 3 full-time veterinarians and nearly 20 support staff! Dr. Peters retired in 2012 and Dr. Petzel and Dr. Picklesimer purchased the practice, and it now operates officially under its new corporate name, New Chillicothe Animal Clinic, Inc. Veterinary medicine is constantly evolving, and the clinic has seen many changes over the past 30 plus years. Technology has changed the way we evaluate and treat your pet's condition. We pull x-rays up on a computer. We monitor heart rate, oxygen level, blood pressure, and temperature during surgeries. We can test eye pressures to check for eye problems. We can administer oxygen therapy using our intensive care unit. We can do lab work in the clinic and have results within a matter of minutes. The list goes on and on, and we try to keep our list of equipment growing. Technological advances have definitely changed veterinary medicine and allow us to give better care and obtain better diagnoses for your other family members. We are proud of the accomplishments of CAC over the past decades. We have cared for thousands of animals and found a lot of friends in their owners. We thank all of you who allow us to care for your pets, and we thank those of you who are considering us to care for your other family members in the future. Please let us know if you have any questions about our clinic or the services we provide. We are Your Other Family Doctors.

They perform such great work, I can't imagine their services being any better than they already are.

When my dog was feeling ill (lathargic, skin issues), Dr Petzel knew immediately what was causing her malaise. Great doctor, thank you.

The staff and doctors at Chillicothe Animal Clinic are all amazing. They share the same compassion for our pets as we do. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

I was recommended to Chillicothe Animal Hospital by a friend's mom and I owe her a big "thank you" for giving me such a good recommendation. The vets really seem to pay attention to my dog and are good about listening to me and answering any questions or concerns I have.

I have two older cats that are going through kidney failure and they are doing fluid treatments with the techs and they did not charge me tech time for it. Chillicothe Animal Clinic does their best to look out for the patients and their owners.

Beware! For the better part of a year misdiagnosed my cat, Chillicothe Animal Clinic did indeed . After many visits & poor information regarding the true sate of his health, they evaporated precious time that could have been used to save him at Med Vets. Incompetence & the lack of due diligence is what i found in regards to my special needs cat. It's easy to take care of a healthy animal & say everything is ok & that will be 200 hundred bucks. They in fact got 300 bucks & did nothing for him that yielded any positive results in the 24 hour period prior to taking him to Med Vets. To add insult to injury they even misdiagnosed him one last time before i got the real story at Med Vets. If you have a older cat please stay clear of this place as all they will do is take your money & say there sorry. Or at best at some point after it's too late they will throw up they're hands & tell you there is nothing they can do & then refer you to Med Vets.

My Favorite and very recomended because thier right there when your pet needs their help with problem. If I could take my horses their I defenitly would. They have helped my animals soooooo much. It's wonderful. My Rott would have died if it wasn't for Beth Henson. She is THE BEST!!!!
