The Victory Tattoo shop was established in 2001 as a safe, friendly, sterile and knowledgeable environment in which to provide creative and custom tattoos.Serving Chico and its surrounding communities for over a decade has given the us the distinguishable honor of being bestowed with the Best of Chico title for Tattoo Shops in 2009, 2010, 2012 and, most recently, 2013!We adhere to city, county and state defined health protocols and have all necessary and proper licensing. We prominently display our up-to-date licenses to operate and are more than happy to provide tours of our facilities, show you our workstations, the tools we use and our process. Not very satisfied with the conduct of this business. Called Sunday afternoon asking if they were busy and if they could do a simple tattoo of a few words in black and white block lettering. They told me they weren't busy and to come on down. I drove all the way down from Magalia just to arrive at the shop closed. I called at about 4:15 and arrived at about five o'clock. The business hours are listed as closing at six. They didn't even have the common courtesy to call me to let me know they were closing even though they directly told me to come down. Not happy with wasting my time and gas. Do yourself a favor and go to a shop that actually conducts themselves professionally, because this one isn't it.

I have been getting tattooed at Victory for years by Derek. He is so personable and always makes me feel like an important customer, even when the shop is packed full of people. I have brought dozens of friends into this shop to get tattooed and will continue to bring in more and more. HIGHLY RECOMMEND VICTORY TATTOO - YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
Had multiple tattoos done here. Always handled with the best of care and they make sure I am comfortable (well as best as I can with needles going into me) and are friendly. Went in for a quote today and had a great conversation and feel confident that I will get an excellent tattoo from them.
I went in with an idea and drawing that i'd had for at least 17years. All of the guys were friendly and greeted me. I began working with Zac on a memorial bracelet with a LOT of really intricate line work. After redrawing my idea to fit my wrist we got down to it. This was my first tattoo, so I was very excited and a little nervous. Zac took his time, got the positioning just right and went to work. Zac has such a fine touch that half the time he was tattooing I didn't feel pain, just heat. I am completely happy with my tattoo! I felt like the price was very fair for the amount of work done by an experienced artist, and I felt very comfortable in the shop from the time I walked in the door. Thanks Zac you were great!
Love this place. It's no longer owned by Kip and Amber - Derek runs it now. He ONLY does tattoos - no piercings. I recently had him do a big piece up my leg - prices might have been a bit high, but the quality was well worth the price. Derek is friendly and personable and the shop was VERY inviting - not one of those creepy places with a bunch of guys smoking outside. It's off the beaten path a little since it isn't downtown, but it is definitely the only place in Chico that I'll go for anything I want done in the future!

When I was looking for a local tattoo parlor I looked at all the shops in town. Victory Tattoo was the place I decided to go because of there professional attitude and most importantly artistic talent. I wont go anywhere else!
I just got a tattoo from zac black and it is 100 times better than the drawing I brought in. If your in northern california its worth the drive to have your tattoo done right the first time!
I had a great experience at Victory Tattoo recently - the artists were really friendly and the guy that did mine, Zac, did a really great job. I have been to other shops in Chico and not had such a nice experience. I highly recommend to go to Victory first.
Victory Tattoo is hands down the best place to go. I've been to all the others and have had work done on me or seen what was done to my friends, and all I can say is that there really isn't any other shop up here that is on the same level as Victory.
If you want to get a Tattoo while your kids get haircuts.... be my guest...
If you want to spend six hours of your day getting a thirty minute tattoo by some jaw-clenching tweeker... by all means, go right ahead...
If you want to get a tattoo from an angry parole with swastikas all over his arms... the choice is yours to make...
BUT, if you seek a true piece of skin art and demand professionalism... there is only one option available to you...
Victory Tattoo is the only shop in Chico I would go to - everyone there is friendly, knowledgable and experienced. They helped me and my friend design a great tattoo and gave us good advice so we didn't get something that would look bad later on. Some other shops will just tattoo anything you ask them for, but Victory takes the time to be honest and direct.
Kip did an amazing job on one of my tattoos and Zac has done a few others, which are my favorites. I would highly recommed him and Kip. Amber is the nicest piercer I have ever met, she explained everything really well and answered all my questions. If you are looking for a piercer, Amber is by far the best and you shouldn't go anywhere else.
The nice thing about this shop is that everyone there has been in the industry for at least 10 years. There are NO APPRENTICES (as another reviewer wrote - I remember them working at a different shop MANY years ago when I was in college) - at other shops you might get someone who is new or has little to no experience. These guys have been around for a long time and aren't in the business just to act cool - they know what they're doing and give you the highest quality artwork. If you are honestly looking for the best art, most experience and clean, professional artists and atmosphere, Victory Tattoo is the place to go.
