- Dental ExaminationThe dentist will perform a complete oral examination, take full mouth x-rays if needed, and discuss any treatment you may need. The examination can identify conditions such as tooth decay, periodontal disease, and even oral cancer.
- X-raysDental technology has improved the way dentists practice their craft. Thanks to science, modern techniques allow patients to receive dental treatment without the pain and time associated with old-fashioned dentistry. Dental technology is even being developed to make dental X-rays safer and more convenient.
- Teeth CleaningPosted the following on my Facebook page: 9 likes, 3 (envious) comments, 1 share. Pampered at the dentist. At my dental cleaning today I read a book by the fireplace in the waiting area before my appointment, had a hand wax treatment while they cleaned my teeth, enjoyed a complimentary chocolate chip cookie and cup of coffee, and, since they were running late and I had to wait an extra 10-15 minutes, they offered me a $5 Caribou gift card. I'm very tempted to ask if I can come back tomorrow.
- Fluoride TreatmentFluorides are, of course, beneficial for children, but many adults also suffer from problems for which fluoride may also be the answer. A recent National Institute of Dental Research survey reported that adults had an average of 23 decayed and filled tooth surfaces. Recurrent or secondary decay around fillings represents a major dental problem. Surveys find that 40-50% of total adult fillings are done to replace existing fillings. Fluoride treatments can be the answer for you. Research shows that properly applied fluoride blocks cavities by forming a more acid-resistant surface layer. It can even reverse (remineralize) early forming cavities (white spots). There are various prescription strength fluorides that can be tailored to your specific needs.
- Dental SealantsA sealant is a thin plastic coating that fills the grooves of molars and premolars. These grooves collect plaque, a film of food and bacteria. Toothbrush bristles usually can’t reach the plaque that accumulates within the grooves, and this can cause decay.

- Resin CompositeCrowns can be made using a variety of materials, each affecting both the “look” and function of the dental crown. Gold alloys, nonprecious alloys, porcelain, ceramic, acrylic or composite resin or combinations of these materials may be used. Dental crowns made entirely of porcelain can be “bonded” to your tooth and are the most natural looking. In the process of making a crown, the porcelain is colored to blend in with your natural teeth. We take a number of factors into consideration in choosing the material that is most suitable for you. When selecting a crown material we consider the location of the proposed crowns, the position of the gum tissue, the amount of tooth that shows when you smile, the color or shade of the tooth and the function of the tooth.
- VeneersPorcelain Veneers are thin shells of porcelain fabricated with the help of a local dental laboratory. Veneers generally cover the tops and front of teeth. We use veneers to whiten teeth as well as correct problems like chipped, misshapen, crooked, or warped teeth. Once they are in place, porcelain veneers become a part of your teeth. You will be able to use them like their own teeth, because the bond is extremely strong. Your final result is a more beautiful, natural-looking smile. Our Minneapolis/St. Paul area patients have been amazed with the results they have seen from this procedure.
- CrownsIf you want your smile to be your crowning glory, dental crowns can easily be fitted for you at our dental practice. A dental crown covers or caps your tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size. The purpose of this procedure is to strengthen your tooth or improve its appearance. Our patients have dental crowns installed for a number of reasons...
- BridgesIf you’re missing one or more teeth, you may be aware of their importance to your appearance and dental health. Your teeth work together to help you chew, speak, sing, and smile. When you lack teeth, it’s difficult to do these things. Fortunately, missing teeth can and should be replaced. You can restore your oral health and your smile with a fixed bridge.
- Dental BondingThere are a wide variety of teeth whitening techniques now available. In addition to cosmetic procedures like porcelain veneers and dental bonding, a custom in-office whitening system can help brighten your smile, and improve oral health. Our practice uses techniques and teeth whitening gels that make it possible to significantly lighten and brighten your teeth. The amount of time it takes varies from person to person, but usually our teeth whitening patients see results within a week after visiting our New Brighton office.
- Root Canal TreatmentWhen the pulp inside one of your teeth is injured or infected, a root canal may be recommended. The pulp is the soft tissue inside your tooth that contains blood vessels and nerves. The most common causes of pulp damage are a cracked tooth, a deep cavity or decay, problems with large fillings or injury to the tooth. If the damaged or diseased pulp is not removed, the tissues around the root of the tooth can become infected, resulting in pain and swelling. Even if there is no pain, bacteria can damage the bone that anchors the tooth to the jaw bone.
- DenturesA bridge (also called a fixed partial denture) replaces or spans the space where one or more teeth have been lost.
- Dental ImplantsThe dental implants we use at our practice are small titanium cylinders that are surgically inserted into the bone of the jaw. A new porcelain tooth (a “restoration”) is then anchored to the implant. A dental implant is inserted into the jaw and does not affect the surrounding teeth and bone density in the jaw is preserved.
- Orthodontics© usually requires 12-24 months to align the teeth and these techniques don’t allow you to have control over the shape and color of the tooth. Instant orthodontics gives you the ability to change the color and the shape of the tooth as well as that perfect tooth alignment alignment you have always wanted.
