Founded in 1982, Ounce of Prevention Fund is a nonprofit organization that serves at-risk children and families. It conducts training on various topics that include human sexuality, family life education, early childhood development and sexual abuse prevention for early childhood professionals. The organization offers various home-based programs for families struggling with poverty, depression and sexual abuse. It provides support and prenatal counseling, as well as parenting education for teenager mothers living in poverty. Ounce of Prevention Fund operates centers for young children that provide education, child development programs, child care and social work services.
