      Founded in 1865, the Onward Neighborhood House is a nonprofit organization that provides services for dependent, disabled and mentally ill children and families. It offers education, child care and family support services. The organization s Early Childhood Education Program includes preschool, personal care and nutrition services to children between the ages 2 and 5. Its School Age Program teaches social and team building skills, as well as includes weekly activities, such as cooking, arts and crafts, computer literacy and sports. The organization conducts trips to museums, zoos, bowling alleys and water parks. It also organizes educational workshops in the areas of financial literacy, computer skills training, and child and personal development. The Onward Neighborhood House operates a computer resource center that provides training sessions on computer use and software applications. The organization maintains a location in Chicago.
