- Founded in 1913, City of Hope is a cancer center and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. The center s more than 300 physicians and scientists and over 2,500 employees work to find the causes of causes of, and cures for, cancer and other life-threatening diseases, including diabetes and AIDS. It offers chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation services. City of Hope provides assessment services through psychiatrists, psychologists and physical therapists. The center s researchers have developed a vaccine to evoke the suppressed immune system of solid organ transplant recipients and infants. It conducts seminars on topics related to breast cancer risk, novel stem cell-based therapy for brain tumors and sexually transmitted diseases. City of Hope maintains an office location in Chicago.
