My daughter had a bunion removed over a year ago - and they only shaved the bone - the bunion - and didn't address the actual cause of the bunion which was a misalignment of the big toe along with a flat foot which caused her to foot to roll. He also used a pin to keep the bone back in place after surgery instead of a compression screw, and therefore bone spurs formed. She ended up having to have a second surgery 6 months later to get rid of the bone spurs and there were other post-op complications. We had to pay for the second surgery, the second hospital bill, and a second round of physical therapy - not to mention the work she had to miss and the awful pain she had to endure a second time! All of that was the direct result of the doctor not doing the job right the first time. They made a lot of money from us and my daughter is still having foot pain and the toe is now starting to turn in again. When she was still experiencing pain at the surgery site on her foot 6 months after the second surgery, we went to a different foot doctor for a second opinion. Here is where we learned how incomplete the first surgery was and how they should never have charged us a second time for the second surgery. We are not sure if she is going to have to have a third surgery - but I will NEVER go back to Feet For Life if she or anyone I know needs foot surgery!!!

I would not EVER go to this doctor office again. I'll say this first...I paid them a bunch of money. My insurance paid them a bunch of money and my heel still hurts.

They sold me a heel splint and charged my insurance company over $200. I found the same medical equipment for $29.95 at Walmart. Of course my insurance didn't pay for it and so then the doctor office charged me $98.64. I ended up not even being able to use the equipment as it kept me awake at night. I used it twice. And when I asked them if they would work with me on it, they said no. That since they had charged my insurance company, they couldn't give me any discount, and told me to call my insurance company and if they said it was ok, then maybe they would do something. I then had the insurance company call them and the doctors office proceeded to tell the insurance company they wouldn't do anything. IT was all a BIG RUN AROUND. In the end, the office manager, who I might say was very rude, didn't do anything. And they wouldn't even let me talk to the owner (doctor) unless I made an appointment, which I'm sure they would've charged the insurance company as an office visit.

BUYER BEWARE with this doctor's office!!!

My mother had an implant done many years ago for the joint of her big toe after she fell going UP the stairs 20+ years ago. :-) . When she was in town for a visit and mentioned issues with her foot, Feet For Life was able to get her in. There was a little bit of a wait, but that is understandable, especially this day and age. Thank you Dr Horwitz and Feet For Life! She will be back in soon for her surgery!

A few months ago plantar fasciitis struck me out of nowhere. When I sought out treatment through the Feet for Life Centers, not only was I pain free in just a few weeks, but they prepared a treatment plan that worked around my busy schedule. With being an active adult, pain relief and treatment wasn't an option, it was a necessity. Thanks for getting me back on my feet-

I have had pain in my feet for years, the result of bunions and hammer toes, and had resigned myself to the fact that I would never have relief. Thinking that the condition was permanent, I was surprised when a co-worker told me that she had suffered in a similar way until Dr. Horwitz had performed corrective surgery at Feet for Life Podiatry Centers. I quickly made an appointment and within two weeks was recovering from surgery and already very happy with the results.

I gave Feet for Life (Chesterf...

I gave Feet for Life (Chesterfield) a one-star rating, NOT because of Dr. Horwitz, but the overall experience. Dr. Horwitz appears to be a good practitioner, but the lobby-wait times were up to 1-1/2 hrs. He was constantly on the phone (probably with insurance carriers), and meeting with drug sales reps while we waited. Most of the staff appeared to be new, fresh out of school, and in training--so our experience took longer than it should have. My husband's total visit was 3-1/2 hours--NOT for surgery, or something extreme--but to be fitted for orthotics. Regarding my order, someone in the staff dropped the ball, so it took over two months to receive my orthotics. When my order finally arrived they stated that a doctor must be present to try on the orthotics. So during this particular visit, a different doctor gave us the boxes, told us to try on the orthotics, and asked us how they felt. We were charged around $40 each to take our own orthotics out of the box, place them inside of our own shoes, and try them on.

Dr. Michael Horvitz has helped...

Dr. Michael Horvitz has helped me heal from several afflictions. He has precribed corrective shoes, inserts and surgery to help me with my feet and without his and his staff's care I would be in very serious shape.

I recommend him to friends and family when I hear of their needs.
