10 months ago we stepped into the doors of Crossroads hopeless after a roller coaster of i.c.u. visits, in-patients programs, out-patient programs, counselors, psychiatrists, and psychotic prescription medicines....we are now hopeful with the structure, expertise, experience strength and hope, love and personal attention through Crossroads that has allowed my son to work on himself and grow daily; as well as, our family to work on ourselves and grow daily. We see miracles daily.

I believe the core strength of this program is the support/strength from the peer-to-peer and the parent-to-parent structure that goes well beyond any 30 day in- patient/out-patient program. This is not a "glum" lot, enthusiasm/love abounds and is infectious. A true way to live!

When we walked into The Crossroads Program our 18 year-old daughter had hit her bottom and asked my husband and I for help. We found The Crossroads Program through a mother at an AA meeting.

My husband and I came in feeling terrified for our daughter, grief struck by the impact of her choices, traumatized by the stress from the depths she had gone, and angry that after six years of therapy and quality programs she was only worse. Now she is over 16 months sober, has sober and productive friends we love, a job she enjoys, recently bought her own car with her funds and is thinking about returning to school. Additionally, we have many parent friends who understand what we have gone through and how blessed we are for where we are now. They have been through this nightmare of addiction with their children too.

The Crossroads Program counselors are amazing. The program engages the kids, allows them to be teens, demands they be sober, and builds a culture of healing and nurturing relationships for both the young adults and the parents. Our daughter was actually willing to participate on day one. Yes, she’s had her ups and downs, successes and failures, trials and troubles, and yet she is thriving – finally! The Crossroads Program has transformed our family for the better.

Since our family has been in The Crossroads Program, I have learned how devastating addiction is in our country and in our St. Louis Region:
- St. Louis County has 4 times the rate of the national average of heroin overdoses
- Drug overdoses are now the leading cause of death among Americans under 50
- 144 people will die today from an accidental overdose of opioids
- Rates of alcohol/drug addiction are highest among adults aged 18-29
- Drug overdoses cause more deaths than cancer or heart condition

There are no perfect solutions. Recovery requires a ton of work from the young adults and the family. However, The Crossroads Program is the only program that has resulted in recovery for our daughter.

Simply put, my son is alive because of the Crossroads program. We have been a part of the program for about 3 years and are grateful for the staff, the kids and parents that we have come to know and respect. He is doing very well in life now. Working, going to school and living a positive, healthy drug free life.

I can't even begin to articulate our level of gratitude for all that Crossroads has done for our family. The counselors reached out to our son with a spirit of authenticity that was unparalleled. They addressed the emotional roots of addictive behavior, taught all of us the steps to living successfully with this disease, and loved our beautiful boy back into existence before he could love himself. He has remained sober for over 5 years now, and we are always welcome to participate with sober family program events over the years. That’s a missing element for many programs. We’ve had continuing wrap-around support that has connected with our son in a way other professionals were not able. We celebrate the life and love that has been restored to our family!

We have been involved in this program for 20 months now. Our whole family has benefitted from this program. We have seen our son find love for himself and all those around him including, his family. The counsellors have helped him find his way to happiness and sobriety. He was far from that for many years prior to joining. Crossroads has saved our sons life!

This program has taken my son off drugs and become a contributing member of society. The long winded critics have not been in the program or don’t understand teen addiction. The program has saved my sons life and reunited a family. He can now deal with life on life’s terms and not have to cope using drugs.

Crossroads...the program, staff, kids, and parent group saved our kid's life when no other program, school, outpatient facility, therapist, or MD could. Taught me how to be a better parent and gave me the tools to cope & be happier while our kid recovered from an insane and dangerous ride with drugs and alcohol.

Don't send your kids there

The staff have the best of intentions (I hope), but it is a scam from the higher ups.
