The two plus marks go to front desk staff and location convenience. The front desk staff is always pleasant and courteous, as are the maintenance and cleaning staff. Management at the Chester one is below par. Most class instructors are good, a few are fabulous (personable and promte participant success), a few are fair at best. The cycling room is NOT conducive to yoga, so that is not good at all. There are hardly any classes for kids 8-15 years old--just 2 on Sundays (while we're at church). The entire chain is way over priced compared to other gyms (like Gold's Gym, etc.) in the area. The one big minus: they never put in the pool as "sold" to my family during signup as a feature "coming in 2014" to this Chester location. This location offers the least of any AMFAM I know. My family will not be renewing at the end of the contract.

Certain staff are very unprofessional, stalk women, stare them down while they work out, black female workers all they do is laugh loud and cause drama, equipment is sticky, ceiling fans are never turned on high, HATE this location!!!!

I have to agree with the previous review. I for one will not be renewing my membership. I barely go now, because I can not get access to some of the equipment I need for my work outs. And yes Kettlebells are not available for the members to use.

I have managed gyms and have been an avid weight lifter and fitness instructor most of my adult life.The Chester Center is well-equipped and is in a good location with good hours. However: I want to note the following:..Bad management, most of the management personnel are not friendly, There seems to be discrimination in relationships with older clients in favor of younger ones and in training and hiring of Senior Citizens Most of the trainers are friendly.Human resources are not client relational. Equipment as kettle bells are not available to the general gym workout members. Scales are broken and do not work most of the time. The Center needs "tweakihg" in its programs. More attention needs to be make in enforcing the rules printed on the walls of the Center. Prices need to be adjusted down as they are too high for what the Center offers. Management needs to be trained in client interpersonal relations.
