      Located in Chesapeake, Va., Sims Metal Management is a part of Sims Group USA, which operates public metals recycling facilities throughout the United States and recycles unwanted consumer items and industrial scrap into raw materials for manufacturing operations throughout the world. Established in 1988, Sims Group USA receives ferrous and nonferrous metals that are processed using shredders, shears and balers and are then sorted into internationally recognized grades at its recycling facilities. It is one of the largest scrap metal processors and exporters in the West Coast. The company operates various public recycling centers, scrap processing facilities in the U.S. Sims Group USA recycles consumer glass, plastic and aluminum cans. It has a network of equipment, facilities, transport and communications. The company also buys materials from independently owned suppliers and producers in the United Kingdom, Europe, South America and the Caribbean.
