- Primary CareDr. David Wichnoski has lived in Charlotte most of his life. He attended local schools and received his B.S. degree in Biology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. After graduating from the Southern College of Optometry, Dr. Wichnoski performed residency training at WJB Dorn Veterans Hospital in Columbia, SC. This was a multidisciplinary approach to eye care which exposed him to many other areas of medicine and has prepared him well to become your primary care eye doctor.
- GlaucomaThe Humphrey visual field measures a patient’s visual field (centrally and peripherally). This device is commonly used to help diagnose and monitor glaucoma, but it is also a life-saving tool used when diagnosing or ruling out neurological disorders such as strokes and brain tumors. Another common use for this device includes monitoring for retinal toxicity related to use of medications such as Plaquenil.
- Macular DegenerationAt Spectrum Eye Care we help patients with severe vision loss from macular degeneration and other eye diseases. We work with Metrolina Association for the Blind to provide low vision devices to help patients enhance their vision and improve their quality of life.
