"I will schedule you for Thursday at 2 and we will do the root canal then if it isn't too bad." So the 2 of us take off work and go to the appointment. Dr. Gist says "Yes I can do the root canal, but not today I don't know what Matthew was thinking telling you that. Since you took off of work for this we can schedule you for a Saturday appointment and I will have to talk to Matthew about this." We call back for Saturday appointment and Matthew puts on hold to talk to Robert. No Saturday appointments available now, ok how about we do it during the week. Put on hold. No after reviewing your case Dr. Gist says he feels it would be best for you to see a specialist. The real reason being that Dr. Gist's office accepts Careington Care 500 and we wanted the root canal and nothing else at the price that the plan negotiated. And were going back to our dentist for the crown. Apparently $516 isn't worth Dr. Gist's time, because he was more than willing to do it when he thought it would be $15xx with the extra fees tacked on with the crown.
