If you value your personal happiness, and overall life, do not come. As a student, I can say this is the biggest disappointment I have encountered educational-wise. I wanted to go to beauty because I always had dreams of doing hair, ever sice I was little. Besides the fact that the school is gross, (there's leaks, the dryers are dusty) you learn little to nothing. You pay around 11,000 to go here, mind you. Some teachers are nice, but a majority of the people working in the office are very rude. They are unclear about your financial aid and overall completely unorganized. It also looks like this school hasn't been updated since the 70's (I'm not exagerrating). Ive learned how to do perms, roller sets, the bare basics of color theory and little to nothing about hair cuts. When you're upstairs they teach you a 45 degree and your basic zero. Half the time you are learning something for the first time, IT'S ON A CLIENT. So from a customer perspective, I wouldn't come here either, because I had no idea what I was doing half the time I was working on someone when I started out. You call the teacher over for help, and you learn what to do right then and there on the client. I feel as if there should be more classes on how to cut different styles and so on. It gives me great anxiety knowing I have the potential to screw up someones hair because I am JUST learning something. The good product goes unused, and we use most of the cheaper stuff on clients. We hardly use the joico that just sits there in a glass case. A lot of the color in the basement is expired, but we still use it. Also one of the barber teachers upstairs who is in his 50s or 60s would hit on and try to flirt with a lot of the cosmetology students, which is beyond disgusting and unprofessional. He still works there, because no ine cared that he was like this toward the girls at the school. This place is the biggest JOKE. The drama is awful, the education is bad, and everything is outdated. You're expected to come here for a year (for the cosmetology program) 5 days a week from 9-4:30 and from 8-430 on Saturdays. You can only have up to two weeks (14 days) of doctors excuses, so if you get sick a lot you probably shouldn't come. If you miss a day that isn't excused you get charged 40 dollars. It's 40 everyday you miss. I was unclear of this when I first started, because I was told that you could miss up to 14 days before you are charged overtime. I didn't know they had to be excused. There's so much more, but this place is awful. DO NOT waste your time going here. You will learn little. DO NOT come her as a client either. A lot of the time you'll be the mannequin and not even know it for lack of us being taught ahead of time.

I had to learn the hard way. I gave all I had and come out with nothing. I am very disappointed that I feel this way. There are alot of other students that feel the way that I do. As far as some teachers they are awesome but everything is not set up the way it should be. More basic things need to be thought while these students are paying what they are paying to go there.
