Laurie is a certified nurse midwife and delivers babies at Valley View Medical Center, in Cedar City, Utah. She has been working in obstetrics since 1977 - a long.. time, and she has a wealth of knowledge and experience. By having your baby at the hospital, combined with Laurie as your provider, you combine the individualized care and comfort from a midwife, with the safety of the hospital. She is the only female obstetrical provider with privileges at the hospital in Cedar City. We are conveniently located in the hospital, across from the ER. We also accept most insurances, and allow payment plans if needed. Have you ever thought, "Why a nurse midwife?" The skills of midwives and their expert knowledge of women's health care are often overlooked. Laurie graduated in 1977 with her BS as an RN, worked in labor and delivery at LDS Hospital for 17 years, then in 1994 obtained her Master's of Science at the U of U in midwifery, working as a CNM since. She is board certified, and has consulting obstetrician physicians that she works closely with.
