- CryotherapyInferior Turbinate Surgery involves the treatment of a portion of the membrane of an enlarged inferior turbinate to reduce its size. Partial turbinate resection involves removal of a portion of a bone and sometimes the mucous membrane of an enlarged inferior turbinate. It is safe and effective procedure to relieve nasal congestion, which has not improved with treatment of other underlying nasal, sinus and/or allergy problems. Inferior turbinate procedures are performed under local or general anesthesia, sometimes employing cautery, laser, cryotherapy or radio frequency ablation. They may be performed in association with other nasal and/or sinus procedure
- SinusitisNose Balloon Sinuplasty (BSP) is a safe and effective procedure that is now performed by trained ENT doctors in surgery or, in some cases, in the office under local anesthesia. It gives most patients relief from pain and discomfort caused by sinusitis symptoms. If you have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis or recurrent sinus problems, you may be a candidate for this procedure. In addition, it is a very effective treatment for children with a chronic runny or drippy nose.
- Family PracticeAmber Burgin is a board certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and is licensed by the state of Iowa. Her scope of practice encompasses specialization in ENT centered healthcare for all ages. Amber graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Grandview University and worked for 9 years in the hospital and emergency room setting. In 2013 she graduated from Creighton University with her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner and worked family practice for 2 years. Amber accepted a position with Wellendorf ENT in April of 2015. Her experience in family practice and working with patients of all ages will be of great benefit to our practice.
- Emergency CareRebecca began her nursing career in 1994 in an emergency room setting and has logged over 20 years in that field of nursing. In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Rebecca also has an outstanding academic background that includes her RN Degree from Southwestern Community College, Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Iowa, Master of Science in Nursing with specialization in Education from the University of Phoenix, and a Health-Coach Certificate from the MacDonald Center for Obesity and Prevention Education. Rebecca obtained her Certificate of Family Nurse Practitioner from Clarkson College in 2014.
- Computed TomographyDr. Wellendorf does a wide variety of ENT procedures, including being one of the first in the area to do procedures such as balloon sinuplasty and coblation tonsillectomies. He has great success with the much less invasive balloon sinuplasty procedure on adults and children. The coblation tonsillectomy is also a procedure that allows the patient to have quicker healing and less pain. He has always been a believer in keeping his clinic up to date and current with the newest treatments and diagnostic tools. He does many in-office procedures, including the balloon sinuplasty, TNE (Trans nasal esophogoscopy) and CT scans to help with quicker diagnosis.
- General SurgeryDr. Tracey Wellendorf was born and raised in Audubon, Iowa. He has been providing ear, nose and throat care for patients in western Iowa for nearly twenty years. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He then attended the University of Iowa College of Medicine, graduating as an MD. During his medical schooling he was inducted into AOA, medical honor society. Dr. Wellendorf did his internship in general surgery and his residency in otolaryngology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. After completing his residency he returned to Iowa, practicing in Council Bluffs for a year.
- Ear SurgeryMyringotomy with or without tympanostomy tube insertion is the most commonly performed ear surgery. It is extremely safe and effective. The tube usually remains in place for 6 to 18 months, although it may be rejected sooner or remain in place for years. Complications are minor and usually in the form of infection, which may be treated with antibiotics. Use of earplugs while showering or bathing is not necessary. However, for adults and older children who submerge their head while swimming or diving in swimming pools or lake water, the use of earplugs is recommended.

- BotoxShe graduated with honors upon completion of her master’s degree in March 2012. After completing her education she accepted a position in dermatology at Unity Point in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where she received advanced training in the administration of Botox and Juvederm. She accepted a position with Wellendorf ENT in Carroll, Iowa, in early 2014. At Wellendorf ENT she treats a wide variety of patients with complaints ranging from ear, nose and throat problems to basic skin health and advanced cosmetic skin care.

Dr. Wellendorf is specially trained in plastics for the evaluation and treatment of skin lesions, skin cancers and many other conditions.
