Frank's Steak House

First visit since 1915-moved away. Food is still good. I'll be back.

The steak (sizzling) was delicious! The service was excellent. We will return.

I LOVE this place. Went here for date night with the boyfriend and we will never go to another steak place again. It reminds me of the old-school nice restaurant of my childhood...cozy booths, middle aged waitresses, small town service, WARM delicious bread on your table. The prices here are perfect and the portions are huge. I really think this place is a dying breed of restaurant that everyone should make a point to enjoy. I would recommend this place to everyone I know!

We have been coming here for 25 years. We have always been pleased with our meals and service . Keep up the good work.

Our food was delicious & well presented! Our server was efficient, warm & friendly! Frank's is one of our favorites.

My husband and I recently visited Frank's steakhouse after hearing about it on Phantom Gourmet and online as a steakhouse of excellent value. I was disappointed. I ordered the filet mignon and my husband ordered the prime rib. My filet was charred black on the outside although the inside was cooked properly to the medium rare I ordered. The texture was decent but the flavor really boring- I think they need to age their beef longer or buy better cuts. My side of broccoli was really sad looking and they had obviously trimmed part of it that was going bad. My husband's prime rib was decent. We ordered two different glasses of red wine and after a quick taste test it was obvious they were the same thing, although it was a good wine. I don't think I'll be going back for their steak in the future.

After 70 years in business, you'd think these guys would have steak down. I had the sizzler, ordered it medium rare. It came to the table medium well, dry, tough, and flavorless. It was a struggle to get it down; if I wasn't being treated, I wouldn't have bothered. I won't be back.

Our first visit to Franks proved to be one of the best Steak houses around. We had reservations for 7:30 on a Red Sox night, got there at 7:10 and our table was ready. No traffic and no problem parking down the street. We all had drinks and appertizers to start off the night. Very good service and the appertizers arrived hot and delicious. Our order was then taken and in a timely manner our salads arrived cold and crisp. The king cut prime rib was a plateful. We also had the Captians Sirlion. Both done to our likings. Service could not have been more pleasant even though she was quite busy. It was a Saturday night. I would highly recommend giving Franks a try.

First visit last Sunday. Service lacking, no spoons for tea, delivered food and disappeared, etc. Steaks very unremarkable..easily better at the chain steakhouses. My steak overdone, others were tough instead of tender. Seems best suited for the over 70 crowd, but they had better have sharp dentures. Phantom Gourmet let us down big time on this one. Will not be back.

I have gone to franks maybe 10 times --and I can tell you I have never been dissapointed.. If you think your going to a steakhouse your wrong --yes they serve steak but its more of a family restaurant then anything else.. If your looking for a true steakhouse go to Grill 23 or the Capital Grill but make sure you bring your credit card-- Franks is fantastic--why?? well where else can you get a steak (I recommend the SIZZLER) a huge baked potato a nice salad a nice loaf of bread and a beer and spend around $20 bux??? --fyi it gets packed around dinner time on the weekends and you have a large amount of loudmouth soxfans during the season --its worth a try

We visited this steakhouse by recommendation and were disappointed after giving them three visits by a group of six. Suprised by service and quality, sent a letter of complaint after the three visits and did not get a reply. Still waiting after 3 months and feel they have enough locals to support there business and do not need us.

Find Franks hard to stay away from, very friendly atmosphere, awesome service always with a smile.
Varied Menu with daily specials. Love sirloin well Big Franks is the one, A big cut cooked to perfection. A little keno while eating never hurts and may even pay for your meal. Drinks are refreshing and the beer is cold. This is a great family restaurant with something for everyone.

We found Frank's to have a friendly atmosphere, excellent service, great value, and a great night out. The menu is varied, we gravitate toward the Sizzler and/ or a perfect Prime Rib. The staff are
friendly, helpful , and fast.
The drinks are satisfying, the specials offer a wide variety and there is a piano/sports bar to entertain you.
It is a great experience and we go often..

I was very surprised at only adequate food and service. This is a nice family place with unimpressive steaks. There was nothing really to get excited about. The salad and bread was just ok. The vegetables were from a can and rubbery. The steak was good but not great, and for the price I expected more. Our waitress was invisible for most of the time but pleasant when around. The place was friendly.

Had high expectations given others' reviews and the phantom gourmet rating. Was welcomed by a good deal of smoke (from both the customers and the bartender). We ordered a NY Sirloin and marinated sirloin. We like them medium-well. We received totally charred well well done steaks. Was not was we expected nor what we had paid for. Will not return. Not much a value when you consider that the steak was not worth eating. Sides were good (potatoes and mushrooms).
