My wife called Locklear Plumbing to come install a new kitchen faucet that we already purchased, replace outdoor faucet where handle broke, and repair a dripping shower. James Locklear came out and told my wife it would be $175 to install kitchen faucet, $150 to repair dripping shower, and $125 to replace outdoor faucet. I thought $450 total seemed high. I called to talk to James to get a better understanding before jumping to conclusions. I was told the prices and I said it seemed kind of high. To get a better reference I asked how long it would take to replace the outdoor faucet and he said it could take as much as 30 minutes. That would be $250 an hour to replace the faucet. I ended up calling another local plumber to come out and was charged less than $200 to take care of all 3 issues.
