- Macular Degeneration50s  – Risks increase for cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Often these show no symptoms until damage is already done. This is why it’s important to have eye exams at least every two years. Dry eye increases, especially with women exiting menopause.
- Laser Eye SurgeryCorneal Cross-Linking is a gentle, safe and effective treatment for Keratoconus and post-LASIK ectasia. These are progressive thinning disorders of the cornea – the clear outer surface of the eye – which can lead to vision loss and the need for corneal transplantation. We are excited to offer the first and only FDA-approved Cross-Linking treatment for keratoconus.
- CataractsRefractive lens exchange involves the surgical removal of the clear lens of your eye. In some cases, the lens may have an early cataract which does not significantly interfere with corrected vision. The eye surgeon, known as an ophthalmologist, surgically removes the natural lens of the eye and replaces it with an advanced intraocular lens implant (which is usually made of plastic, silicone, or acrylic material), in order to restore vision. For refractive lens surgery, typically a multifocal lens implant is selected to replace the natural lens, to deliver a fuller range of clear vision, near through far, allowing patients to spend most of their day glasses-free. To learn more about Refractive Lens Exchange, schedule an appointment to talk with our doctors to understand your lens replacement options.

- Eye ExamWhen I went in to The Eye Associates for an annual eye exam, I can not tell you how surprised I was to find out that I had cataracts in both eyes. I thought I just needed a new eyeglass prescription. They told me that they were the fast growing kind and that I should have surgery right away. I met with Dr. Kent and he scheduled the surgeries quite quickly. My right eye was worse than my left eye, so he scheduled the surgery for my right eye first and then my left eye two weeks later.
