Burlington Day School, founded in 1954, is a coeducational, independent day school for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade, and enrolls more than 200 students. Curriculum offered by the school includes mathematics, computer, reading, language art, social studies, science and French. Its enrichment program includes drama, travel, sports and guidance. The school organizes annual and biannual trips to the State Capitol of Raleigh, the Alamance Battleground, the Alamance Historical Museum, Penn 4H Center in Reidsville, NC symphony and Old Salem in Winston-Salem. Variety of sporting programs offered to the students includes basketball, volleyball, tennis, golf and cheerleading. Burlington Day School is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school is located in Burlington, N.C.
