ACS ( American Computer Services, Inc ) was founded in November of 1970 to serve the needs of a wide variety of businesses. In our early years we provided data processing services to firms that could not, or did not, want to spend the money and resources on expensive computer equipment. As a "service bureau", we honed our skills at recognizing and developing the special requirements needed to provide exceptional service. One of our earliest clients was a large Southern California refuse hauler ( who we serve today ). We soon saw the need for our services in this specific industry. We turned our attention to developing industry specific software and services to better serve our growing list of refuse clients. Because refuse companies must work closely with the cities they serve, we have also developed unique systems and capabilities that allow us to serve both seamlessly. Today ACS serves refuse companies and municipalities that provide refuse, water, or sewer billing to almost one million customers. Our outsourcing capabilities have evolved to the point that we provide a single source for this important aspect of the their business.
