Established in 1979, Black Veterans for Social Justice is a nonprofit, community-based organization that serves men and women veterans and their families. It conducts veterans employment services and reintegration and assisted competitive employment programs. The organization provides security services for properties and organizational events. Black Veterans for Social Justice s Assisted Competitive Employment Program includes training and skills development services for mentally ill veterans. Its Homeless Veterans Program is a project that provides affordable housing for veterans and low-income families. The organization provides group and individual counseling and mental health services. Its Assisted Outpatient Treatment Program is a court-ordered treatment for clients who have a history of medication noncompliance. Black Veterans for Social Justice is located in Brooklyn, N.Y.
