My 89-year-old mother uses R-A-D and loves it. She gets the same "daughter" every time (Theresa), who helps mom organize her medication, cleans her apartment, turns over her mattress and changes the bed, etc....and genuinely cares about mom's well-being. They have great conversations; I've met Theresa and think she's a treasure. Mom lives in a retirement community in Milwaukee and likes her independence. I live over a thousand miles away. The retirement community charges over $1,000/mo. for assisted living. I think Rent-a-Daughter is a smart, caring, intermediate step.

Founded in 1985, Rent-A-Daughter is a nonmedical home care agency that provides personalized care services to senior citizens. It offers personal and hygiene care services to older and convalescing adults. The agency assists individuals with housekeeping, laundry, nutritious meal preparation, and personal and household shopping activities. Rent-A-Daughter also encourages its members to participate in physical and mental development activities and provides medication assistance services.
