My 2.9 years old entered this school in 2/06 and my child and I had a very unpleasant experience. There was a particiular staff member that was very uncaring towards the children. She often talked about how spoiled the children were and that she wasn't there to spoil them. I witnessed her mistreating the children, by yelling at them and telling them things such as "What's wrong with you, & are you stupid"?. These matters were brought to the director's attention by me. However, the staff member, even became more frustrated and would take out her frustrations with my child. My child started to exhibit severe seperation anxiety. She did nothing to calm him down, instead she would manage to make him feel worse. After 2 1/2 months of me complaining about her to the director and not seeing a difference, I just had to lose my deposit and move my child out. Thank goodness, that I found an excellent school nearby and my child has been doing good since then. I do not recommend this school

Riverdale Montessori School was very beneficial to my daughter's academic and social development. My daughter was given freedom to learn through exploration including creative and constructive activities. Because she felt comfortable in this learning environment, she was able to learn a great deal with significant retention.Most important, the director and teachers of the program were very caring and attentive to the needs of the students.I have seen the reserved and withdrawn students blossomed into the most outgoing and animated human beings. My daughter is a prime example as she now competes in the top 2% of her sixth grade class.I am most appreciative of the time invested by the staff of the Riverdale Montessori School concerning their efforts in the dissemination of meaningful and constructive instructions. I have only great praise for this program, and the least one could do is not to complain about the students' nap time that is a daily routine at the end of the day.
