WCYB became the first commercial station in America to transmit multiple network signals simultaneously. WCYB-Television is an NBC affiliate, which broadcasts in the tri-city area of Kingsport and Johnson City, Tenn. and Bristol, Va. WCYB airs NBC national syndicated programs including the Today show and NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. The station also airs programs such as Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Days of our Lives and late night syndications such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. WCYB-TV, located in Bristol, Va., is owned by Bluestone Television, Wichita, Kansas. WCYB-TV began broadcasting in 1956, and Bluestone purchased the station in 2004.
