Brighton High School is a public school that provides academic and college-preparatory education to students in grades nine through 12. Established in 1894 and located in Brighton, Colo., the school enrolls more than 1,600 students. Its curriculum includes English, fine arts, mathematics, science, social studies and foreign languages with a choice in French and Spanish. Additionally, the school provides courses in agriculture, civics, economics, marketing, business administration, information and automotive technology, entrepreneurial development, desktop publishing, and family and consumer science. It also offers advanced-placement and honors courses in English language and literature, geometry, algebra, precalculus and biology. Brighton High School additionally organizes various extracurricular activities, such as jazz band and orchestra groups, and guitar and piano classes. It has a library that provides a large collection of curriculum books and literary sources. The high school is a part of the Brighton School District 27J and provides various sports activities, such as golf, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, cross country, swimming and tennis.
