This book uses larger print in its alphabetical listings than does the regular phone book. Other than that, there is not much to commend it. Interesting that they want proof of who you are to buy an ad. But try to find out who they are, other than the fact that it is printed in Salisbury. Hard to believe any local person is actually behind this imitation phone directory. No local person would fail to list one of the two major electric power suppliers in the alphabetical listings. If you live in a part of the county served by that utility, tough luck if you have a power outage or need to report a line down. You will not find the number to call in the current "2010 - 2011 Accurate and Complete" edition of this so-called directory.

For the 3rd year in a row, they still have my business listings incorrect. I am tired of trying to get them to fix it, so I have decided to write a review. Local Book has completely excluded me from my real listing-Atlantic Portrait Studios. We have been in business for 3 years now, no thanks to Local Book, and they STILL have me listed under "Atlantic Home Watch" "Atlantic Business Services" (businesses have not existed for years)-in categories such as "translators" and "real estate". Every time I receive a call from them asking me to BUY advertising, I tell them that although I do not want to BUY anything, I still would like my phone # listed correctly. I just received the 2009 Local Book, and sure enough-no listing under photographers, but there my # was under the 2-3 incorrect categories. When I receive phone calls from people looking for these nonexistent businesses, the very first thing I tell them to do is to THROW AWAY the Local Book and use a directory that employs competent sales people. Local Book is not accurate nor up to date. I have already thrown mine away. It is useless.

He was almost hostile as he asked repeated questions, making sure I was authorized to buy phone book ad. I got tired of all the questions, and finally said I am branch manager, make the decisions, sign the checks. He in anger said that he was going to remove me from the phone book, and then he hung up. By far, this was the worst call I have had from a person trying to sell me something. Isn't it illegal to do act in this fashion?
