Southern Foods is an independently owned, full-line foodservice distributor and a member of an integrated nationwide distribution system that includes a cooperative purchasing program, UniPro Foodservice. Its customers include restaurants, health care facilities, convenience stores and hotels. It carries more than 6,500 products that include fresh, dry, frozen and refrigerated grocery products, cleaning supplies, paper goods, equipment, and tabletop and kitchen utensils. Founded in 1956, Southern Foods operates a restaurant-equipped test kitchen, training room, and several distribution centers and temperature-controlled warehouses.
