General Info
Jan Shaughnessy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is comfortable working with individuals and couples of any age, cultural background, or sexual orientation. She can help you identify dysfunctional patterns of behavior that contribute to - even perpetuate - the difficulties that you are having. The focus will be on removing psychological and behavioral obstacles that prevent you from reaching your goals and improving your relationships. Jan's approach is supportive and sympathetic, but also pragmatic. While she believes that an understanding of the past is essential, positive change occurs in the present. Jan works to challenge you to be an active partner in therapy and to continue to seek insight and growth outside of your sessions. Jan's training and experience ranges from work with children, adults, and couples to counseling persons that have survived all types of trauma. Whether you are a person overcoming trauma or someone who would like to break a pattern of unsatisfactory jobs or relationships, call today to discuss your needs and arrange for a session.
