lady friendly

I am new to all this and have been to several sports stores and ranges. The firing line is the only place that made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions with sincerity and patience. Most others made me feel like they were an boys club. I am going back...

Well... I have been shooting a...

Well... I have been shooting at all the places in the area. This is by far the closest place to where I live. That is about the only plus. I have a lot of different guns but one of my favorite is the AR-15. It is a close quarters gun and works very good in the 10-25 yard range. It is very fun to shoot. I walked in the store. I guess the guy was having a bad day he asked what I was shooting. I told him a few guns then listed a AR-15. Which I have shot there before (responsibly). He acted like I waved a loaded gun around in the store. He said in a real stern voice "YOU CANT SHOOT THAT HERE. WE CAUGHT SOME PEOPLE SHOOTING ARMOR PIERCING ROUNDS" I was like hmm. Ok well lets just shoot what else i brought. He said "Better make it fast we close at 7PM." It was 6 he acted like it was wrong to come into a gun store late in the afternoon to shoot a few rounds. I'm sure he had somewhere to be but he seemed irritated and didn't offer any friendly conversation at all. I decided to "disarm" the mans bad attitude with conversation. That didn't work I got short one word answers like "yeah" "ok" & "sometimes". Well I just went to shoot. Without my AR of course. I didn't enjoy it because at 6:30 pm I felt pressured to leave. I pretty much got charged for 45 min of range time that I couldn't enjoy. I really thought for once that a retail indoor range would come through and save the day from the poor customer service of Allan Arms. Well I guess working in a gun store makes you have a bad attitude. Maybe they need to do something else with there lives. I'm pretty sure that the fact the parking lot is empty most of the time proves what I am saying and I have talked to alot of people about the similar issues they have had. This makes me sad. Also no shooting long rifles for a while. They banned anything more than a .22mag. Basicly they were checking guns but not ammo. Thats the ranges fault because everyone else checks. Its your range you need to protect it. Banning everyone from shooting long rifles will be a bad decision in the future of this place.

Highly recommend The Firing Line. I shoot there with a friend at least weekly. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the place is professionally ran. The membership is a great value if you shoot often and the ammo is reasonably priced. Very convient location and haven't ever had to wait for a lane, but have noticed business is picking up, so that could change. 5 starts no doubt.

I highly recommend The Firing Line. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I think the facilities are great. I love that the targets don't keep moving after being sent down the line. I have found their prices to be very competitive. On average I shoot there 3-6 times per month. Their membership program is a great value.

You might want to give them another look. They cut there rates to a good price. The $5.00 ( .50 cents for 22 Cal) fee they charge is if you bring your own ammo and is one fee no matter how much you shoot. It is to help with the clean up of the lead down range of your ammo. If you buy your ammo from them there is no charge. You can collect your brass after shooting, they want you to have it marked before you shoot though.

Loved meeting with Laurie and Johnny. We found their business to be organized, helpful and friendly. The range is very convenient and the prices are very competitive with other ranges. They are developing new programs for gun safety and shooting confidence which we are looking forward to attending.

Dude, there is no such thing as an EPA fee. It is just a charge they are giving you. And you can't take your own brass with you? Knocks out reloaders, I guess. The place in Greenville rents machine guns- what a blast- but you do have a to wait a while on Saturdays they are so busy. I guess they are doing something right over there.

Found the Firing Line SC to be a great place to shoot. Only indoor range in Spartanburg that I know of. Cost 15.00 per hour plus 5.00 EPA fee (whatever that is. Just our govment trying to hep us). You can also shoot for one half hour but I did not get the cost for that. You can buy targets, rent ear protection and eye protection or bring your own of all. Can use your own ammo or buy some from them. They also rent weapons for use. Friendly staff and range safety officers. Using the automated target racks was great. It is a little loud so wear good mickey mouses and maybe also plugs. You can not retrieve your own brass. I only had to wait for about 10 minutes on a Saturday. Not bad. When I was arriving a family, mom, dad, and two sons were leaving. Seemed to have had a great, fun family outing. I highly recommend the Firing Line.

Disappointed..

I really looked forward to this range opening close to home, which was delayed several times. Once it opened and I saw the prices, my jaw dropped. I won't be shooting there.
