      General Info
      I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years experience working with adolescents both in private practice and as the crisis counselor for the Birmingham School District. For my work as the crisis counselor, I was named Michigan Counselor of the Year for the year 2000. I also help patients with renal failure deal with the emotions of having a chronic life changing illness. My experience as a renal failure and transplant patient myself puts me in a unique position to help other patients. I work with clients and their families who experience problems of daily living as well as oppositional defiance, anxiety, stress, depression, family, work, and school related issues. As needed, I use the expertise of doctors and other professionals who provide assessment, diagnostic and medical consultations. I believe in a family approach to counseling in which the focus of therapy is both on changing the client's thinking and behavior as well, as other care givers of the client.
